Fair Use Policy
Last updated 2 August 2026
This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service and explains what counts as reasonable use of InfraCue. It exists so that one account cannot degrade the service for everybody else, and so that you know where the edges are before you reach them.
The short version: use InfraCue normally for your own IT operations and you will never come into contact with this policy. It is aimed at automated abuse and at usage far outside what any real IT team does.
1. Limits your plan enforces
Each plan includes a number of users, assets, locations and monitored devices. These are shown in the product and enforced by it. Reaching a limit does not break anything — you are asked to upgrade or to remove what you no longer need.
- We do not charge overage fees without telling you first.
- If you exceed a limit through ordinary growth, we will contact you rather than cut off access.
2. The monitoring collector
Network Pulse polls the devices you list, on the interval your plan allows. To keep the platform stable for everyone:
- Ingest is rate limited per workspace. Sustained polling far above your plan's interval may be throttled.
- Monitor only devices you own or are authorised to monitor. This is a condition of use, not a preference.
- Do not use the collector to scan networks or ranges you do not control.
3. What is not fair use
- Automated scripting of the interface to a degree that affects other customers.
- Sharing one login between many people to avoid seat limits. Named users are how the product is licensed.
- Reselling access, or operating the service on behalf of third parties, without a written agreement.
- Storing data unrelated to IT operations — using ticket attachments as general file storage, for example.
- Attempting to reach another customer's workspace, or to probe the platform for weaknesses without our written permission.
- Deliberately circumventing plan limits.
4. Security testing
We welcome responsible disclosure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, write to support@infracue.com before testing further. We will not pursue anyone who reports in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix the issue. Unannounced load or penetration testing against the platform is not permitted.
5. What we do if usage goes well beyond this
In order, and we very rarely get past the first step:
- We contact you and explain what we are seeing.
- We agree a way forward — a plan change, a configuration fix, or a written exception.
- If the behaviour continues and is affecting other customers, we may throttle the account.
- Suspension is a last resort, and only for deliberate abuse or where we have been unable to reach you.
Where the issue is a security threat to the platform or to another customer, we may act immediately and explain afterwards.
6. Exceptions
If you have a genuine need that sits outside this policy — an unusually large estate, a short migration burst, an integration that polls harder than normal — ask us. We would much rather agree it in advance than discover it as a spike.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. For changes that would affect how you already use the service we will give at least 30 days' notice by email.
